Kemet – “the black land” – is the original name of ancient Egypt. To follow such an old religion sometimes means difficult reconstruction, sometimes daring interpretation. Between those two poles I am trying to balance not only mentally, but also trying to bring back an ancient worldview back into life with my daily practise. This includes Egyptological research as well as personal daily rituals to connect with the diverse deities of ancient Kemet.
My name, Merit Sutekh Sat-Ma’at, means “beloved of Sutekh and daughter of Ma’at”. Ma’at is both a goddess and also the cosmic order that keeps the world together. Set or Sutekh, the “bad guy”, storm god, protector of the sun god and murderer of Osiris is the god who owns my heart.
